Adventures and Volunteering in India – AVI - develops and promotes a variety of opportunities for the international volunteers, who choose to offer their precious time and energy, share their skills and knowledge to support social development projects to improve the quality of life for the less privileged population of India.
AVI believes that education is a tool which, by sharing with others, benefits the giver and the receiver both. Involvement of international volunteers in community awareness campaigns or in any kind of social activity with the local community, is a way to draw attention to the larger population. And - an enthusiastic volunteer can certainly become a tool of inspiration for the local community to participate in our endeavors of social development
By virtue of living and volunteering with the local residents, volunteers get a sense of belonging and attachment that certainly helps in bridging the gap between the rich and the poor. This also helps the community in developing their self esteem and confidence.
During the programs, the volunteers are offered plenty of opportunities to participate in the local culture workshops, excursions, social celebrations, visit famous tourist places, fairs and festivals in and around the work area. This will certainly facilitate the volunteers to enjoy and experience India’s unique culture - not as a traveler but as their fellow companion.
